Friends, I have been blogging for over 10 years….TEN! That is a lot of words, and questioning, digging, and Scripture sharing!
Over the years, my writing has grown from short, few-line, poetic prose, to long, often 1,000 word posts, sharing what God has deposits in my bones, hours and sometimes days earlier.
(I have been trying to make the posts shorter, I promise….I just can’t. It’s like 1,000 words is what God gives me, & I can’t get up from my laptop until He squeezes each & every word from me.)
Then, peace floods me, and I know….I just know. It’s done. It’s time to post what He has given me.
But then, in 2020, I felt this urge to take some words God shared with me, and add them to a devotional; concluding with “Thoughts/Questions”, a “Remember” section, a “Prayer” & a “Verse”.
When God gives me what to write, often it’s like words are deposited, dump truck fulls, into my heart….Then, the next few days I work frantically, until I can rest…
Until I have peace from my follow-through of obedience.
So, this day, two years ago, and the next, I gathered my first ever book in Kindle version, “Faith Rising: A 14-Day Challenge to Greater Faith”.
I felt peace, and rested.
However, in recent weeks, God prompted my heart a bit further, and nudged me to publish this Kindle book, into a paperback.
So finally, the “Faith Rising” devotional is here!
It’s not your typical devotional. It doesn’t “tell” you what you are doing wrong, or “how you NEED TO” do something. Instead, it invites you into my journey, my story, via short, easily read, poetic-style prose…
I share about foster children, a time at swimming lessons when I witnessed a girl almost drown…But most of all, I share how God has invited me into a deeper relationship THROUGH the hard stuff around.
It is the glimmering light of His radiance, shining as if reflecting Him, the Jewel of Great Price, amazingly, His Light cast into the crevasses of my own brokenness.
And now through that journey, those thoughts, that call He has initiated to me…
I invite you.
I invite you to recollect what faith is and how He might be leading you, to not only exist on the shores of our own complacency, waiting for Jesus to come…
But to swim deeper, more faith-filled, walking in the call of all He has made and designed you to do and be.
As I published the paperback of this book, I began to quickly realize, those who purchased the Kindle version didn’t have space to work through the 14 days of reflection, introspection, and leadings God was inviting them into.
Shortly after, I published the, “Faith Rising Journal”, to accompany, “Faith Rising: A 14-Day Challenge to Greater Faith.”
The Journal is a resource designed to give you space to think, reflect, join the call of God as He directs your life and leads you through the pages of the devotional.
No one becomes a bodybuilder overnight. No one runs a marathon in a day. And in the same way, we don’t just “Grow Faith”. It is given to us in measure, by the grace of God…
At the same time, it is my belief that we need to “work out” & exercise our muscle of faith.
He calls us to be faithful with what He has gives us, and to steward it well.
We can have a measure of faith, but if we don’t “practice faith” by pressing into Him in deeper trust, obedience and abandonment, will that faith ever bloom?
As a result, here is my devotional. Would you be so kind to consider purchasing it on Amazon? It would also help me so much, friends, if you would consider leaving an honest review.
Both would be such gift to me, after blogging ten years.

Congratulations Jen! I so identify with your saying you simply can’t write shorter blog posts. Me too! But your posts are amazing and encouraging. Praise God for your new devotional, may he bless the work of your hands. He has gone before preparing all those who will read it to receive his words at your hand!
Donna, cannot tell you just how much your words encourage me! Thank you! Thank you! That is my prayer too, that He somehow touches people through mere words from a broken jar of clay!
Congratulations! Isn’t it something how blessed we are when we can see how God started something in us and grew us from a seed into his mature plant? Blessings to many more new plants to come.
