“You are in the hand of God,” I hear Him say.
And I see myself laying prostrate. Alone. Like Ann Darrow. In the hand of King Kong.
There. Above. Gripping tight. Holding on. Eyes shut. Filled with uncertainty in this darkness of night.
Yet, I know that there….In the palm of the Living God….Is the safest place to be.
As I watch and see….towers of self getting trampled so freely by the feet of Jesus. And people flee scared at the reality of their situation.
And I hear….as I close my eyes….The booming voice of The One protecting me from the wind….of my own destiny…..
“Don’t be scared. I will not harm you. I am only good. Your job is not to tremble and fear….but to stand. And to praise me.”
And I start to raise my voice. The one that’s been mute for far too long. Looking around.
Here. Elevated above. As my spirit says….
Why not…..praise Him?
He is big.
He is big.
…..As I breathe in the awesomeness of God. And legs strengthen.
Here.
Where the enemy uses fear to silence us. Quiet us. In the grip of pain…the enemy has us right where he has wants us…..
Where the enemy uses fear to silence us. Quiet us. In the grip of pain…the enemy has us right where he has wants us…..
As long as we remain quiet.
But, what if praise is our intended response?
What if our circumstances were meant to make us…..Run to. Climb in. And stand bold in the hand of God? So that we might shout & draw attention to Him?
But, what if praise is our intended response?
What if our circumstances were meant to make us…..Run to. Climb in. And stand bold in the hand of God? So that we might shout & draw attention to Him?
What if there….in the midst of the air….when our feet can’t touch the ground…..we announced His goodness? Anyway!
Would others look our way. And see Christ. Standing above all things. Missing us. Small. There….in the palm God?
Or do, sadly….we…..often like it the other way? Do we want to be the one above all….with God. There. Safely in our palm?
And when God is small. How often do we want Him to be our mouthpiece so that others will be drawn to us?
Standing puny. There. In every situation.
Lord shrink me. Then, lift me. So, I can rest assured where you have purposefully placed me…..
Lord shrink me. Then, lift me. So, I can rest assured where you have purposefully placed me…..
There. In the palm of your hand. Rejoicing.
And as He sweeps His hand across the landscape of our circumstances, so effortlessly…..to bring healing. May we shout. Point to Him. And love Him alone.
Completely.
Completely.
So that the world can see His beauty.
And wake from sleeping….
And trying to be their own God.
And trying to be their own God.
…..Like I have done too long.
28And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand.” ~ John 10:28

You posts are so full of truths its hard sometimes to know what to say, I agree though. Have you heard of BSF?
Jen…this is so good…”Don’t be scared. I will not harm you. I am only good. Your job is not to tremble and fear….but to stand. And to praise me.” Oh this is truth…praying for you in the middle of His hand of Love…
Brownie – I haven’t heard of BSF. Would love for you to share more.
Ells – What can I say friend, but thank you! ๐
why not praise him? he is big…
oh, i love these lines. i love your heart, friend.
How true this is! We are to praise God in all situations then the evil around will shrink and leave. A good reminder for me today.
Blessings,

What a beautiful post!
“Standing puny.” Yes! Puny in the great hand of God, that’s the way to victory for me. And no one may see me, but that’s okay, because puny me didn’t win the victory. ๐
(Gotta say, that title grabbed me. I just had to see what “God and King Kong” was about!)
Oh I love this post! How trusting God feels scary until we remember that He is the big, strong, sturdy one.
Such a creative post! You really made me think and encouraged me. Blessings!
I often think of the scriptures about the fear of the Lord and wonder. Until I remember that verse about true love driving out fear. It’s akin to awe… Someone so awesome He can hold me this way. Lovely.
