Our adoption story. All for His glory. A call from placement. A prayerful assessment. Waiting to find her. A child left behind. Hungry. Skinny. Homeless. Needy.
The search. Over. A drive to go get her.
We see her, with ladies. All doting, amazed. Quietly, we enter. She turns around, as if she remembers. A look, a gaze, right in our faces. As if the distance, the time, the absence has all been in vain.
I embrace her. Love enters. A parade to the others. With nothing but a t-shirt. We quickly get her home. To show the others.
Up the stairs. The children run down. They see her, grab her, love her. as if she has always been our own.
A bath. Trying to suck a bottle. New clothes. Lots of holding. A hope for tomorrow. A knowing.
Now growing. Laughing. Playing. On target after much reading. Starting Kindergarten. Loves her friends. The beginning. Yes, a beginning of a love story, with a perfect ending.
