I know it is the Lord, because it feels like a thick down-comforter wrapped around me, still waters running deep…
Not the crashing surface streams that rage loudly, but at the end of the day produce nothing but frustrations and division.
And I see them, those lost in their perception that self-centered living will ever get them anywhere.
The arteries pump blood unseen, to the body barely breathing; necessary, quiet, yet vital in every way.
And yet, we live in a world that worship’s skin. Outward appearances, performing for promotion, or fame, or money, or other people.
And how we see humble saints standing in the spotlight, but rarely realize the sacrifices they have made…
We want glory, without pain. High titles and good perception….
But must continually bow our knee to The One who was meant to be the very center of it all….
And all great images reflect their maker, don’t they?
The student models the teacher. The lessons are never given credit, nor does the one it is who does the learning…
So, we lift our heads to our Creator. Look to The Blood, for taking it’s forces to arms and legs, head and parts that may not ever get any credit, as part of the body of Christ.
Still, somehow we look linear. Think our thoughts, our choices, our way of life is all there is…
When in reality, we are simply small ripples; reaching, reflecting, distributing the glory of the one who has sent us…
And when we focus on conclusions, we will always get disappointed…
But if we focus on the source of our movements, the journey of one small vein intertwining in a world of a thousands moving pieces…
We see we are quite small. And yet, we glory in our part.
Knowing, it’s all about His call, anyway…
And who knows how one word can radically change a life. One glance, one smile, one movement that might seem insignificant touch another soul…
For God uses empty vessels, carrying His blood to portions that might not otherwise have tasted His goodness…
If we hold fast, and commit to being obedient.
If we not look outward or inward, but up….to the source of all of our encouragement…
We can sing praises when choices are made that we disagree with. We can rise rested and peaceful…
Unlike those who spend their days plotting, planning. Deceitful…
We can walk humbly knowing His call to reach, and heal, and love was done because our journey truly wasn’t ours anyway…but His.
And all good things came from the One who empowered us…
Even on those weakest days….
Yes, we can love the unloveable, truly pray for those who persecute us. Forgive those who are vengeful, and divisive…
Offer grace to those who God will deal with one day…
Because this fragmented picture isn’t ours, but His fully, in every way…
Something perfect He’s been painting. We see in part, but only He truly sees fully.
And we are not the image. We are not anything but simple vessels, obediently carrying His blood to those places needing it….
So, we never need to be seen; big, loud, or boisterous. We just need to love fully, unconditionally, completely…like He did.
Simple. Humbly. Resting peacefully at the end of the day…
Yes, this journey isn’t ours. It’s all His, anyway.
And when we know that, we can rest, wrapped in His down-comforter of peace….
Completely whole and tranquil in the quiet or in the noise all around us.
Fully secure knowing, our life isn’t ours, but a gift in every sense of the word.
And stillness of soul is one of His greatest rewards, for doing the Father’s will.
Will we walk in our own will or trust the Master Creator with the purposes we pursue?
Will we be content to be an unseen vessel, pumping the blood of His heart to a desperately, needy world?

“And who knows how one word can radically change a life. One glance, one smile, one movement that might seem insignificant touch another soul…” This is so true and the reason why we should not hold back but be a light in this world to encourage others. Your post is so inspiring and reminds us that we are part of God’s plan. Blessings to you! I’m visiting from #TellHisStory.
Gayl – Thanks for stopping by! Yes, set upon a hill! What a glorious declaration to His goodness when we don’t shrink back, but humbly display His goodness!
Oh Jen, you are such an amazing being. I have so missed reading your precious words. Thank you for sharing and thank you for hosting! GOD bless you, beautiful friend! 🙂
Tai – You so bless me! Anything good in me, is not me…but ALL Him! Love seeing you here, friend!
This is true. Especially now that sharing is so much easier with social media, people show off rather than serve. Kudos to those who work for the kingdom and not for their own gain.
Lux – Great point! It can be such a fine line between promoting our own opinions vs. promoting The One who has sent us to be light in dark places! Yes, may we keep our eyes fix on our sole purpose…to display Him…not us!
